Waterford
Diary entry as follows: 5:30
a.m. call, flat tire on the way to the
airport--arrived sweaty and harassed to be told
that the flight was delayed 2 hrs. Not a good
start. St. Thomas Airport was full of
Hawaiian-shirt-clad pink cruise ship tourists on
a wild duty-free spending spree. A call to the
helicopter company revealed that the yacht was
wanting the shot taken in St. John National Park
restricted airspace--a crime punishable by
hanging, no doubt
A front was moving in and
threatened to cancel the whole job, but after 2
more hours (hanging out in the hangar with some
good ol Texan mechanics popping Budweisers)
a window opened. 25 min. later the job was in the
bag and I was back at the airport lounge waiting
for a delayed flight, again. After a final stop
in St. Kitts--missed the connecting
flight--finally reached Antigua 11 p.m. A long
day for a 25-minute job...
